Bee Bee Baby Shower!

My sister in law Jen's friends are all getting married and having babies! Jenny Lynn finished with #3 and her friends are working on their #1! So it is fun to have babies born again. I have known the Soon to be Mom since she was about 14 years old. I was so happy to learn she was having a little one.

The sex of the baby was revealed at the shower. So everything was gender neutral. I decided to make her a hand made blanket in warm sage green that would work for either a boy or a girl. I roll them so you can see both sides of the blanket. I suggest for the no sew blankets for a crib size to make it a 1 yard. It is perfect size.

Tied off with a beautiful silk peach ribbon
Then I wanted to make a cute bee using the Cricut Birthday Bash.  I am sorry. I forgot to look at the dimensions that I used. The yellow of the Bumble Bee is Cordinations as well as the blue of the wings. The Black is CTMH as well as the bag is from Chantilly.

The Blue on the left is the backside traced with CTMH #Z2411 Pacifica Light. Loved the look when I flipped it over.

Hated the glitter pink pen on this. Ended up switching it up to a Copic pen in a lighter color. You will see on the end result.

The Honey Comb backround is with CTMH Honey Cardstock with Champagne ink over the embossing from the mini pigment pad sets from CTMH Item #Z2503. With the mini sets you get 10 qty pads in the sets for $19.95.

You can see I popped up the bee with Adhesive Springs that make them wobble! They are also CTMH Item #Z1725. You get 6 qty for $2.95. They are great cause they are tiny and not bulky like other ones on the market. No trimming necessary to try to get it to not be seen. Just peel and stick!

Glittered the words, boots and antenna.

Hope that Billie loves her Bee Bee Card!

Fun in the Sun at 1!

I went to a very hot and sweet birthday for a cute little one year old. Her family chose to have Hawaiian as her theme. I have started, as part of her birthday present, a birthday album. I will add a double layout for her birthday every year. You may remember I blogged on her first page of her album HERE. So here is Leti's first birthday pages!

The striped paper is Embellish by Dena houte girls Painted Stripe #gx-6000-15. I cut it into two 3 x 12" stripes. The backround pink paper is Cordinations Distress Collection by Tim Holtz in Worn Lipstick. This is the same pink as the top of the flip flops.

The flip flops were done with the Cricut cart Cheerful Seasons by Creative Memories (again I use what works for my projects) in a 3.25 measurement. The orange on the flip flops and photo mats are retired orange from CTMH and the blue is lagoon from CTMH. The blue dots are from My Minds Eye Enamel Dots Item #CTB215.

The flowers on the page are from the lay that was given as favors at the party. The brads are random in a turquoise and orange. Birthday Bash cake is in the same cardstocks from Cricut Birthday Bash in 4.0. I colored in the orange in Zig Wink of Stella Brush 070 GL Orange. Adds that little bit of sparkle!

The photos are on 4x6" photo mats. I cut the photos down by 1/4"length and width. The orange matted photo right side of the page was cut to 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Happy Birthday Leti!

Visual Comparison Between Stickles & Zig Wink of Stella

If you are a follower of my blog you know I am obsessed with the Zig Stella pens. I was asked by my sister in law Jen to make some bumble bees for a baby shower this weekend. I had her pick out the bumble bee from my cricut carts. She chose the Walk In My Garden Page 112 Bee. We did it in the 5.0 Aa (standard). I also asked her if she wanted it with some glitter and of course she said YES!

Yellow is Core'dinations Distress Scattered Straw

Black is CTMH Item #1386

Stripes

ALL Assembled

Gun Metal Stickles I outlined all the black

Yellow Stickles I only outlined the outside not touching the black.

Close up of Finished Stickles
This is the Zig pens close up where we used 010 GL Black to color in all of the black and 050 GL Yellow to outline the yellow.

Comparison between the two
Now you see the difference. Let me tell you the other differences.

The Stickles gives it more dimension (DUH) but the dry time is a bit annoying. Also it can warp the paper due to the liquid. The Zig pens dry time is very minimal. By the time you are half way through the next one the first one is dry. There was no warping of the paper. The Zig is more subtle where the Stickles really stands out.

So I think it depends what look you are going for as well as your dry time to pick what you are wanting and willing to wait for.

Wedding Card

So the wedding for the shower card I made was yesterday. I woke up in morning and realized "CRUD! I forgot to make the wedding card". So I jumped right up and started to design.

Went through my stamps and fell in love with a old tried and true D1192 Now and Forever. This stamp, when I purchased it, was $22.95 and CTMH lowered their pricing and all D stamp sets are now $17.95! That is amazing when everyone else is raising their prices and CTMH is listening to their customers and have lowered their prices. The paper, was also still leftover from my 4 card from one paper pack and one stamp set challenge, is from the Close To My Heart X7165B For Always $9.95 (another price drop from CTMH...paper packs were $12.95). I used the script paper and the slate cardstock.

I then colored the cake in with the following CTMH Alcohol markers (think Copic). The pens are $5.95 and come with two! Less than $3 a alcohol marker is UNHEARD of! What is even cooler about them is that the coordinating marker is a shade lighter or darker than the original color. So no figuring out what number you have like with other markers. :-) I used Gypsy Z2410, Indian Corn Blue Z2422, & Olive Z2425. Also the clear sparkle and silver sparkle are from the Zig Wink if Stella Brush pens. You will see in previous posts that I <3 these markers! They are 999 GL Clear and 102 GL Silver.

The papers were cut as following:
Patterned paper 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Slate Gray 3 1/2" x 4"
White Daisy 3" x 3 1/2"

I added three random flowers that added pop. Two in purple and one in a white/off white. I adhered them with raised glue dots. I feel they work best with larger 3D flowers.

Hope you enjoy!

Bridal Shower Card

My daughter is in a wedding and helping throw a bridal shower for her bridal friend. She asked me to make a card. The colors for the wedding are blue, purple and white. Those colors make it hard sometimes to work with in that combo. I decided to use CTMH cardstock in White Daisy & Sky. The ink was retired lavender and black. The colored in flower was done with Zig Wink of Stella Brush in 808 GL Violet & 040 GL Green which I purchased from Murphy Custom Creations. I love love love these pens. You get the glitter look with out the gloopy of glitter glues and the dry time of them either. The Zig pens dry in seconds! This is a standard
4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card. The ribbon and the flower are random.
Please enjoy and leave me feedback or questions!

4 Different Cards -> 1 Stamp Set -> 1 Paper Pack

I love getting the most from a paper pack. With that in mind I decided to pick a cute CTMH stamp set called C1505 Pun Fun Occasions which is available as well as paper pack X7165B For Always. If you know me...you know I love puns! I also tried to have fun by making it simple cards with a cute stamp set with a more elegant paper pack. I could have been a bit more creative with it but I wanted fun fast cards that anyone can make with black ink, paper from the kit, flowers and ribbon. These items are things many can grab from their stash.

All the cardstock back round papers are cut 4" x 5 1/4". The patterned back round paper is cut 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".

#1. So I chose the color Honey paper for the back round of the lemon stamp "pucker up".

Colored the lemons:

with Spectrum Noir CT3 and the glitter part is colored in with Zig Wink of Stella Brush 050 GL Yellow

I then mounted the 2x2" stamped image square onto a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4" Honey CTMH paper from the paper pack.

I then added CTMH black grosgrain ribbon with a bow and a yellow flower I purchased from hydrangeahippo on Etsy.

#2. My next set is ubber cute!!!! It is with the stamp "let's hang out" and the paper color is Lagoon.

As you can tell I had a hard time trying to figure out what to color them in with. So here you can see I used Spectrum Noir BT5 and the Zip Wink of Stella Brush 102 GL Silver.

Mounted the chevron paper design on the back round paper.

Then added random blue flowers, CTMH black grosgrain ribbon and a bow.

#3. Is the stamp "you rock" with a really cute rocking chair. I decided to use the Ruby cardstock that came with the paper pack. The white cardstock is 2 x 1 3/4". I colored it in with by CTMH Ruby Z2429 $5.95 that comes with TWO pens. I used the darker of the two alcohol marker and the Zig Wink of Stella brush 060 GL Brown

I again used the black CTMH grosgrain ribbon with a small piece under the random flower.

So I just adore "just because". I stamped the image on a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" white card stock with a 1 3/4 x 1 3/4" Slate cardstock. I colored the wings of the bee with Zig Wink of Stella Brush 999 GL Clear. The black is colored in aslo with the Zig line 010 GL Black and the yellow also the Zig line too 050 GL Yellow. Yes I love these pens! You get the glitter, pen and no dry time in one!!!

Then the patterned paper is adhered to the Slate cardstock and used Stickles Yellow to create a flight pattern from the Bee in the upper right hand corner across the card.

Last but not least added some flowers in the lower right hand corner.

Hope you enjoyed my 4 cards from one Close To My Heart stamp set and one CTMH paper pack! There are still pages I have not used in the kit! So I could make another set of cards easily!
